Pasembor – Market Food Court

Today, bring my sister go balik pulau to become a real tham chiak. My first target is the kampung baru Laksa/Hokkien Mee. Which declare by my friend the Laksa and Hokkien Mee is nice, and this stall only open during weekend. Even this stall is bit “cold door”, quite a lot of diner drop by, as I can see. My dad claim that the Hokkien mee was nice, when the hokkien mee is served, my dad(old tham chiak) already start enjoy it, so I not able to took any hokkien mee photo shoot. For me the laksa was just ok. Second round, we drop by the market food court. Bring my sister go there to have food juices, her favorite food juices. My favorite stall was the Pasembor. The taste, you can’t find at any other place, only here. Every time go that food court, found out that the po pia seem like quite “good business”. This time I just order to have a try. unfortunately, kinda disappointed.

Canton-i

Canton-i @ QBM. 16 January 2009

When I visit here, it was just opening for around one or two weeks. When I wrote this post, I have visited this restaurant for around three times already. After came back from HK, I found out that this restaurant taste is more near to HK “real taste” and what should the HK food taste should be. 5 “pao” rice which consist of chicken wing, fried pork, tau fu, egg and imported octopus, overall quite worth and nice. The rice taste is a bit differ and don’t know how to describe. You need to go there find out your self. Taste cannot be share. The wanton soup taste is a bit pure and no taste at all, just same as the one I took at HK before. Canton-i really a “truly hong kong”. The wanton was nice and you can found a big prawn inside. Yummy Yummy. The most disappointed is the mango dessert, I can’t feel any mango taste on the mango dessert. OMG, I will not order this for my second times. Will introduce other nice HK foods on my future post.

Lam Mee

Lam Mee

After working hours just meet my friend and having dinner together. My friend ordered the toasted bread with egg. He claimed that it was so so only. I ordered vientnam coffee and lam mee. The vientnam coffee was just ok for me only. I drink once or twice at new wing damansara before, but I forgot the restaurant name. That one was more nicer. The lam mee is impress me, not bad. A bit special also, feel like having koay tiun soap. As you can see the soup is served with more than half bowl, normally lam mee soup is a bit only. Overall the food there was just ok, but the environment was nice. You can enjoy the sea view with the free cold wind and having a paided hot coffee. Need to enjoy life sometimes !!!!

Just drop by crystal point with my god sister. Suppose want to go old house. But she said that old town is a bit tedious. She want to try something new. So we drop by and try the “new toilet”. Overall the food was just normal but I feel a bit expensive. My god sister claim that the fried rice was just ok. For me the rojak was not bad but very expensive. As I remember is around RM 5 or RM 6. The orange juices is just OK.

Black Canyon Coffee

Black Canyon Coffee @ Jusco,BM . 28 December 2008

After having a heavy breakfast at raja uda. We just hanging around at Jusco,BM. Around 12 pm ++, just having lunch with my parents. Overall the services and food there was excellent. But seem like the coffee there is just ok only. Their shop name is black canyon coffee, logically they should be expertise in coffee. Unfortunately they really disappointed me. Luckily the food there still can satisfy my parents and me as well. My parents claimed that the Stir-Fried Rice Noodles with seafood in Thick Gravy was nice and the portion is quite big. The Fettuccini with Chicken Green Curry is spicy and nice. I am not able to finished it all, it’s too spicy for me. I need more drinks !!!! Anyway, the green curry is strongly recommended by Tham Chiak….

Due to my brother in law is rushing go back to KL, we having a very “fast” dim sum breakfast. Overall the food there is excellent. Due to running out of times and we reach there quite late, the famous tai pau and Steam Fish Head with Rice Vermicelli will try it next round, if I got chances to visit this shop again. Compare to Penang island dim sum, seem like this shop dim sum is more variety. Next time, I will try those dim sum that I never try before !!!!

    Egg Roll

    Egg Roll – RM 5.90

Total bill is nearly RM 30. We felt that it is a bit expensive. The worker there is quite weird also, not let us doing any photo shooting. She asked me ‘I from where’, should I told them I from thamchiak.wordpress.com ? But I don’t care,  I still proceed with my photo shooting. Actually the environment there is not bad, better than old town a bit but low end than the sire a lot.  Penang already get the UNESCO historic city status since last year, some of the old buiding (historical) based restaurant, they should try to attract more oversea visitors. Basically, they should let the diners do the photo shooting, at least…..
The peanut - not bad and quite tasty (the taste and quality is almost same as Dragon-I)
fried rice toped with tea leaf - according my friend, it is not bad and something special
fish meat bee hoon soup - not bad and quite big bowl but a bit expensive
Egg Roll - very plain and not much of taste……

    Koay Teow Theng

    Koay Teow Theng

    Koay Teow Theng

Early morning this shop is full with diners. For me the duck meat koay teow theng is just ok for me. The taste is a  bit plain. The koay teow theng is toped with duck meat, fish ball and duck blood. Lately I found out that, same row of the sire restaurant. There is one stall of koay teow theng, the taste is not bad and a bit special but a bit oily. Will introduce this stall of koay teow theng in the future post.
